Most Military-Friendly Online Colleges in Texas

These are the best military friendly online colleges in Texas that have robust online degree offerings.

Military members and veterans work hard in all sorts of roles to support the nation’s military and security. Many colleges recognize this, and offer unique benefits for military students and their families, including grants, discounts, experiential credit, resources and support, and career placement assistance.

The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) tracks five criteria for military services: Yellow Ribbon Program participation, credit opportunities for military training and experience, if the school has a student veterans organization or resource center, if the school is a dedicated military contact point, and if it is recognized as a Service member Opportunity College.

For the purpose of this list, all of the schools here check boxes on at least three of these five services. Beyond that, they are ranked by their overall score, according to our methodology.

Many of these schools are also Hispanic-Serving Institutions or Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions.

For this ranking, we used our proprietary methodology that takes into account key metrics for identifying academic excellence:

  • Small Student-to-Faculty Ratio
  • High Number of Online Programs Offered
  • High Percentage of Online Students
  • High Graduation Rates
  • High Retention Rates
  • High Desirability—the relationship between the number of applicants of a school, those that got admitted, and of those, the number that enrolled.
  • Academic Influence—based off the number of scholarly contributions made by the institution’s faculty in their fields of study and how often they were cited by other scholarly works.

Read more about our standard methodology, here.

To make this ranking, we limited our methodology to the Military Friendly colleges in Texas that offer online degree programs.

For your convenience, you can sort this ranking to find the best value Military Friendly institutions in Texas or the most affordable Military Friendly institutions in Texas.
